Responsibilities

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, is seeking a highly motivated candidate who is fellowship trained in Foot & Ankle surgery and ABOS certified or eligible.  This individual should have expertise in foot and ankle reconstruction, deformity correction, and complex hindfoot and forefoot pathology in order to join our academic medical practice.

This position is an exceptional opportunity to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary department with internationally recognized faculty and an established reputation for clinical excellence in treating a broad spectrum of orthopedic conditions — from routine deformities to complex revision cases and post-traumatic reconstructions — in patients referred from around the country and world.  The selected candidate would also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across Mayo Clinic practices in Minnesota and Florida.

The Foot & Ankle Service at Mayo Clinic Arizona provides specialized care for adult foot and ankle disorders. The candidate will deliver exceptional, high-quality orthopedic care and contribute to the advancement of the department's three-shield mission of clinical care, research, and education.  The ideal candidate will have a robust background in clinical research, with a foundation in basic science investigation, and demonstrate experience presenting their work on regional and national platforms qualifying them for an academic appointment of Associate Professor or Professor.

This is a full-time clinical/surgical position (1.0 FTE), with the expectation the candidate will also develop a robust clinical research and educational portfolio.

Expectations:

  • Establish a practice that supports our department’s commitment to providing serious and complex care of orthopaedic conditions.
  • Help expand the Foot & Ankle Service line with an emphasis on complex care of foot and ankle conditions, including total ankle arthroplasty and management of failed and infected total ankle arthroplasty.
  • Participate in teaching responsibilities for the education of Orthopaedic Residents, with an ultimate goal of establishing a Foot & Ankle Fellowship.
  • Establish a robust Foot & Ankle research program.
  • Participate actively in shared night, weekend, and holiday call schedule with 13 other attending surgeons.
