Responsibilities

The Associate Strategist delivers consultative and analytical services in support of site, shield and departmental strategies as well as broader corporate priorities. Working under the direction of a strategist, manager or director, this role contributes core components across assigned Strategy service lines and projects. Partners with multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation, challenge the status quo and implement solutions that advance organizational priorities. Translates analysis and insights into strategic recommendations that inform planning and align with the long-term strategic plan. Builds and sustains strong relationships with internal and external partners, serving as a change agent who champions agile thinking and empowers teams for success. Demonstrates excellence in financial acumen, business and strategic planning, and both written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Additional Experience and/or Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following: strategic intelligence, strategic planning, strategy development, client services, business or management consulting, project management, operations, analysis, public health or healthcare.

Strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare policy and payer systems. Demonstrated alignment with Mayo Clinic's core values.

Competencies in problem-solving and systems thinking, risk-taking and innovation, collaborative leadership, executive communication and navigating ambiguity. Thrives in dynamic environments with minimal direction, bringing resilience, high EQ and sound strategic judgment to complex challenges.

Strong executive presence with exceptional oral, written and presentation skills. Able to build and sustain effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners. Applies financial and business acumen to develop viable strategies and pragmatic operating plans. Evaluates and improves existing processes and develops new ones where needed. Proactively identifies and mitigates risk through disciplined project planning. Handles sensitive, confidential and proprietary information with discretion. Meets deadlines consistently and with a solutions-oriented mindset.

M-F, 8am-5pm Employee must live within driving distance of the Rochester, Jacksonville or Scottsdale/Phoenix Mayo Campus. Will be onsite approximately 1-2 times a quarter.
