Responsibilities
We are currently hiring a full-time clinical audiologist position. An audiologist provides services for the prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation to patients with hearing and balance disorders. Audiologists at Mayo Clinic work in a variety of specialties within their scope of practice. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that is leveraging the latest advancements and evidence-based approaches to deliver exceptional patient care.
This position is a combination of adult and pediatric diagnostics and includes approximately one day per week working with our hospital service team.
Our diagnostic audiology team works to ensure that medically complex patients receive accurate evaluations, thorough counseling, and appropriate treatment recommendations. They collaborate with otolaryngologists, primary care providers, neurologists, and other specialists to provide holistic patient care.
As a part of our pediatric team, the audiologist will be responsible for conducting the full range of pediatric audiological assessments on complex patients. This includes behavioral audiometry (VRA, CPA), otoacoustic emissions, auditory brainstem response, and auditory steady-state response testing. Additional support is provided by an assistant or another audiologist as needed for very young or medically involved patients.
The hospital service team combines these skillsets to assess a variety of patients as requested by our inpatient staff at St. Marys Hospital. They are responsible for conducting newborn hearing screenings, bedside audiometry, and sedated auditory brainstem response tests.
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high quality, evidence-based care for patients with complex medical needs and enjoys the prospect of working as part of a multidisciplinary team to address unique challenges and improve patient outcomes.
Please include a cover letter with your application relaying your interest in the role.
