Responsibilities
Reports to the Director of Business Intelligence Analytics and resides within the Development Technology Services (DTS) team. Plays a critical role supporting the advancement of technology, analytics, data science, automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) within philanthropic activities of Mayo Clinic. Collaborates closely with Frontline Fundraisers, Marketing team, Stewardship & Recognition, Information Technology functional experts and other teams across Mayo Clinic as needed.
Acts as an internal technical consultant by applying high order analytics and business expertise to the Mayo Clinic's Department of Development organization. Assists with creating business insights through world class, real time, analytical tools and approaches. Identifies insights on prospects behaviors, financial performance, trends of giving, affinities, and use of departmental resources. This includes but it is not limited to:
- Creating self-service tools & dashboards supporting functional areas of department
- Integrating external data into existing ecosystem of prospect insights tools
- Analysis supporting data driven strategies and tactics development
- Assisting with data validation tests and QA testing
- Collecting, cleaning, and aggregating data from multiple sources
- Creating technical documentation
- Automating business processes to streamline operations
- Forecasting and statistical modeling of prospects behaviors and affinities, as well as sentiment for a topic or funding interest (leveraging Generative AI & LLM, machine learning, decision trees, clustering, pattern recognition, and other data science approaches)
- Other ad-hoc analysis and reports as needed.
Position requires ability to identify new data needs and ability to transform existing variables in a creative and meaningful way to serve the purpose. Requires “yes I can”, creative, solution-oriented attitude that is able to deal with imperfections. Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in AI, business intelligence, and data science, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Leveraging Generative AI & LLM to automate complex data processes, enhance predictive analytics, and optimize business operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science, Business Administration, Finance or other related field with strong quantitative analytical skills.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in business/data analytics.
- Knowledge of relational databases (SQL).
- Experience with data visualization tool such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Ability to prioritize, and organize various tasks on multiple, concurrent projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with limited degree of supervision.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technically savvy internal customers.
- Desire to explore and learn new technology including Google Cloud Platform and generative AI tools integrate with ecosystem of tools.
Preferred:
- Experience with broader Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) or Copilot Studio.
- Experience in statistical packages, preferably Python, R/R Studio.
- Experience with Blackbaud CRM.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity / experience with machine learning techniques and software libraries.
