Responsibilities

The Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a lymphoma-specialized hematologist with basic science / laboratory / translational research expertise interested in joining the Lymphoma Disease Group.

The Division of Hematology includes over fifty board-certified hematologists and physician scientists offering highly skilled, state-of-the-art care and cutting-edge research, including access to clinical trials, Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT), Chimeric Antigen Receptor-T (CAR-T) cell therapy and other immune effector cell therapies. The Mayo Clinic Enterprise Lymphoid Malignancies Disease Group is a specialized multidisciplinary group of physicians and allied health staff across the three Mayo Clinic campuses in Minnesota, Arizona and Florida who support and care for patients with all subtypes of lymphoma. Members of the disease group comprise staff from Hematology, Hematopathology, Radiation Oncology, Dermatology and Epidemiology. The Lymphoid Malignancies Disease Group in Rochester includes 17 lymphoma-specific physicians and sees over 9,500 unique patients each year. Mayo Clinic in Rochester supports an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Hematology/Medical Oncology and specialized advanced fellowships in Lymphoid Malignancies, BMT and CAR-T (in addition to Dysproteinemias, Myeloid Malignancies, Coagulation and Classical Hematology).  The Lymphoma Research team had a successful Lymphoma SPORE with the University of Iowa from 2002-2022 and is planning a resubmission in 2026. The group is a key component (Dr. James Cerhan Co-PI) of the multi-site Lymphoma Epidemiology Outcomes (LEO) project which houses data and primary samples on patients with all types of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma providing a powerful resource to investigators. Lymphoma investigators have research space in the Stabile and Guggenheim buildings on the Rochester campus with direct connections to the clinical buildings.

The Division of Hematology is seeking a competitive candidate with a promising track record as a clinician and researcher in lymphoma. This track record would ideally document clear academic productivity in publications, clinical trials and/or emphasis on translational research. The position will require active participation in clinical duties. Lab support commensurate with experience will be offered.
