Responsibilities

Charter House's mission is to provide the best care through practice, education, and research. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Nurse Manager to join our team. Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and operations management consistent with the philosophy, mission, values and goals of Charter House with support and direction of the Director of Health Services.   
  • Directing the activities of the registered nurses. 
  • Assessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing, and evaluating is the basis for all care delivered by the Nurse Manager. 
  • Accountable for planning, directing and coordinating the delivery of direct resident care and for the supervision of the nursing care provided by professional and ancillary nursing personnel. 
  • Collaborating and communicating with interdisciplinary health care team members, residents, and family/significant others to meet the care, educational and discharge needs. 
  • Adhering to Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and Nurse Practice Act. 
  • Supporting and engagement in dementia care and providing dementia training for staff exceeds state requirements.

**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.



Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have a BSN and current RN license registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing, and CPR Certification.

In lieu of a BSN, you may qualify if you have an associate degree in nursing, and 3 years of long-term care experience. You must have a current RN license registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing, and CPR Certification. 

Additional Qualifications 

  • Master's degree in Nursing, business or a health-related field is preferred. 
  • Previous nursing experience with long-term care, including dementia care, assisted living, home health or acute care is preferred. 
  • Long-term care experience is preferred. 
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and human relations skills to interact with staff, residents, and families/significant others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collect, compare, sort, and prioritize information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of residents and employees.
  • Adaptable to unpredictable situations and stress. 
  • Working flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. 
  • Maintaining current CPR certification.

Licensure

Minnesota Board of Nursing Registered Nurse License, and CPR Certification are required.
