Responsibilities
Do you want to build large-scale multi-modal AI models that transform how we diagnose and treat blood cancers?
The BloodBytes AI Lab at Mayo Clinic is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to join our multidisciplinary team at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational pathology, and hematologic oncology. Our group develops self-supervised AI models for blood cancers, leveraging digital histopathology, molecular data, and clinical information to accelerate discovery and improve patient outcomes.
With access to one of the world’s largest pathology data ecosystems, including over 22 million digitized whole slide images, multi-omic and imaging data from major lymphoma, leukemia and myeloma cohorts, Cloud Computing, and high-performance computing on DGX H100/H200 clusters, you will have an unparalleled environment for innovation and translational impact.
In this role, you will:
- Develop next-generation self-supervised AI models for hematopathology, including vision and multi-modal architectures trained on large-scale gigapixel images.
- Integrate multi-modal data (histopathology, immunohistochemistry, genomics, laboratory results, and clinical notes) to create AI systems that understand disease holistically.
- Contribute to clinical translation, advancing AI tools for diagnosis, molecular classification, and treatment response prediction in lymphomas, leukemias, myeloma and related disorders.
- Collaborate across disciplines with leading experts in artificial intelligence, hematology/ oncology, pathology, and quantitative health sciences.
- Publish and presentyour work at top conferences and journals in AI and medical science.
This is a unique opportunity to help define the next era of precision hematopathology, where AI models not only interpret images but integrate across data modalities to guide real-world clinical decision-making. Supported by Mayo Clinic’s Bold. Forward. Unbound. strategy and the Comprehensive Cancer Center, you will contribute to the creation of scalable, ethical, and impactful AI systems for patient care.
Join us in building the future of medicine - one pixel, one cell, one patient at a time.
