ResponsibilitiesMayo Clinic's Mayo Collaborative Services Data & Analytics Services Unit is looking for a Lead IT Application Analyst to serve as the operational lead for the MCS Support Team, overseeing the run and support activities for the Mayo Collaborative Services IT area. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, performance, and uptime of critical systems, data pipeline and analytics, and interfaces used to maintain Mayo Collaborative Services business functions, including PEaRLS, Product Catalog, Data Factory, MayoACCESS, MayoLink, and other applications that serve Mayo’s enterprise and lab-specific analytics needs. The ideal candidate will be a leader, aiding in managing the team responsible for handling the run and support activities for our MCS products built on GCP, but also includes legacy applications, data warehouse/silos, and reports. This Lead IT Application Analyst will play an integral role in shaping how we manage to run, support, and release code for these products including establishing SOPs, KBs, and work queues. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in providing leadership, fostering collaboration with business stakeholders, and driving digital transformation through the support of our solutions. A comprehensive understanding of ServiceNow, Agile principles, and ADO DevOps familiarity is required, complemented by strong communication skills and strategic vision.
The Lead IT Application Analyst will not only engage with internal teams but also collaborate with external entities such as our business colleagues in Mayo Collaborative Services, Center for Digital Health, Cloud Infrastructure teams, Middleware, and other applications teams. This role entails growing our run/support capabilities alongside technical leaders and maintaining a current understanding of the modern technology landscape. The Lead IT Application Analyst will be instrumental in supporting MCS's ambition to develop cutting-edge analytical solutions in the cloud environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead the team responsible for day-to-day operations of the MCS products used to run MCS’s business (e.g. PEaRLS, Product Catalog, MCS Data Factory, MayoACCESS, MayoLink, etc.)
Manage the team that maintains interfaces that interface between PEaRLS, MayoACCESS, MayoLink, and external systems
Manage the team that maintains data pipelines that populate the MCS Data Factory
Oversee the team responsible for delivery and maintenance of operational reports and analytics dashboards
Monitor the health and performance of the MCS products
Manage ServiceNow Configuration Items (CIs), Incident queues, and Azure DevOps (ADO) Break/Fix queues
Ensure timely resolution of issues and escalation to the appropriate build teams when appropriate
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for support products and services
Create and curate Knowledge Base (KB) articles for recurring issues and support workflows
Partner with the MCS IT Build teams to define escalation paths and handoff protocols
Coordinate production releases and ensure smooth transitions from build to run phases
Provide guidance and mentorship to support team members
Assist management with staffing assessments, team development, and operational planning
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as needed to support critical systems

QualificationsMaster’s Degree with 6 years’ experience including 3 years’ of demonstrated leadership experience OR Bachelor Degree with 8 years’ experience including 3 years’ of demonstrated leadership experience OR Associates degree and 10 years’ experience including 3 years’ demonstrated leadership experience.Vendor application certification may be required.
